By using RateMyWebsite (“the Service”) you agree to these terms. Read them — they define what the Service is and is not.
RateMyWebsite produces an automated, informational report card on a website's search visibility, AI visibility, and security. It is informational only.
We make no guarantee of any ranking, traffic, revenue, or business outcome. Scores reflect the specific automated checks listed in each report at the time of the scan, and nothing more. Search engines and AI assistants change constantly; a good score is not a promise of results.
We scan publicly available pages only. We identify our scanner honestly as RateMyWebsiteBot/1.0 (see our bot page) and honor robots.txt for domains you haven't verified ownership of.
You must have a legitimate interest in any domain you scan — your own site, a client's site you work on, or a competitor you have a genuine business reason to research. You may not use the Service to harass, attack, or overload any site.
A scan result belongs to the domain, not to you. We may cache results and serve domain-level results (score, grade, pillar scores, and non-gated findings) to other users who scan the same domain, and we retain anonymized domain-level records as part of our benchmark dataset. Specific security detail is gated to verified domain owners.
Paid products (the Fix Plan, re-scans, monitoring, Pro) are billed through Stripe. Subscriptions renew until cancelled from your billing portal. The free scan is one per account, ever.
The Service is provided “as is,” without warranty. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the Service or reliance on its reports.
